I have to admit that I am ignorant of this “Socrates System”. I’ll research it with whatever public information is available.
In 2012 Armstrong claimed he was porting Socrates over to the IBM Sequoia, as a global economic AI and selling timeshares on it. Sequoia is owned and operated by the DOE for computing simulations. It is not and never was a AI and does not perform global economic analysis, and the DOE does not sell timeshare access to it.
So how did Armstrong, in a year after getting out of prison, get exclusive access to sell timeshares on the DOE's top supercomputer for what it was never designed or used? He didn't. He made it up to separate fools from their money. At best Socrates is PC Excel spreadsheet, not an AI.
