Lee County is among 33 counties included in a state of emergency that Gov. Ron DeSantis declared Saturday in preparation of a tropical depression expected to form soon.
The governor and the Florida Division of Emergency Management are taking timely precautions to ensure Florida’s communities, infrastructure and resources are prepared, including those communities that are still recovering following Hurricane Ian, according to the governor’s office.
I thought Meatball was on a book tour?
Model data had suggested 93L would stall over the yucatan
For a couple days over land but instead it is organizing more east over the water
This mean a much stronger system
The NHC is asleep as the system looks like a tropical depression already if not a storm
Fresh model data in really blows this up as it moves into the big bend of FL
Watching carefully.
The NHC has suddenly booked a whole bunch of Recon flights and data flights starting tomorrow morning
Advisories should have been issued this morning as a “potential tropical system”
I’m glad Desantis is getting ahead of this
We can only hope the NHC operates independently from Sleepy Joe's henchmen. It would not surprise me to see Brandon leave Florida twisting in the wind.
He understands the narrative. Disasters in Democrat states are the result of climate change. Disasters in Republican states are the result of Republican incompetence (and climate change).

EARLY AFTERNOON NOTES ON THE GULF SYSTEM: Invest 93L continues to look well organized, and NHC will likely initiate advisories on the system shortly. It will likely become Tropical Storm Idalia (pronounced ee-DAL-ya) by tonight or early tomorrow.
*The new runs of the Hurricane Forecast Analysis System (HAFS) are more aggressive with the system, suggesting it could be a major hurricane when it reaches the Florida coast Tuesday night.
*For now models suggest the highest landfall probabilities are east of Panama City Beach, in the zone from Indian Pass to Piney Point. I would suggest those in that area begin hurricane preparations... places like St. George Island, Carrabelle, and Saint Marks.
*Understand this could easily change, but model consistency is fairly decent at this early stage of the game. Everyone from Pensacola to Fort Myers will need to monitor future forecasts.
*Too early for a storm surge or impact forecast for any given point, but remember the main impact will be along and to the right (east) of where the center makes landfall, where the flow will be onshore.
*Most of Alabama will be on the dry side of the circulation, but the southeast corner of the state could see some wind and rain Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Stay tuned for updates!

Well he’s the Governor so you can’t knock the guy for being prepared.
Jumping the gun on a tropical depression still will not make up for dithering, and then looking around to see what everyone else was doing, over raising his hand during the debate.
Or maybe NHC is downplaying and delaying, hoping to catch Florida government less prepared. Yes, I think they’re as evil as the rest of the feds.
Wal-Mart has the best retail logistical databases in the world. When a hurricane was approaching Florida, they asked it what the peak demand products would be: it replied “Strawberry Pop-Tarts and Beer”.
So they went and sent a lot of 18 wheelers there and sure enough, they sold out of those two items.

NHC will initiate advisories on Tropical Depression Ten, located near the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, at 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC).
I’d been watching it for the past few days...
The problem with it was that it was still disorganized enough that there isn’t any way to tell where the actual point of circulation starts..
However, on the satellite imagegry today, it appears that it finally has started to organize, so the increased interest.
Anyway, I know people have their favorite places to look for info, these are some if they aren’t familiar with them

I’ve got the thread all ready to go as soon as I have the NHC track graphic.
I think they just called it TD 10?
Yes, the nhc just posted a public and forecast advisory, as well as discussion, on it

Only a moron of cosmic proportions would make the comparison you just did. Congratulations, you’ve just become legend.
