Oh, my. The video of the interview with Fauci is 41m20s long. I'm pretty sure that whoever wrote this "article" counts on no one actually watching the video and cherry-picked heavily to find anything they can quote out of context to try to smear Fauci. They also count on the fact that their target audience does not contain anyone who understands science or who works in the infectious disease research sector. You don't find real scientists who believe antivax conspiracy theories. Real scientists (such as myself) read the medical research literature, get vaccinated, and take other precautions against infectious disease--regardless of ideology.

Throughout my career in infectious disease research, Fauci was highly regarded. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to science. The fact that he was an agency head and still managed to conduct research is amazing. When I was head of a department managing around 100 scientists and staff, I did not have time for research.

Now, on to the actual content of the video. During the interview, Dr. Fauci is discussing the public health response, areas where it was weak (such as in nursing homes) and how we need to look at improving public health information. This is pretty typical stuff that scientists who work in public health say. Then they went on to the topic of antivax misinformation in general and in relation to the Covid pandemic.

Dr. Fauci correctly pointed out that this (antivax/antiscience propaganda) is a huge problem for the scientific community to deal with. And then he said this:

"This is one of the most difficult problems that we are facing and that we will face in the future. There has always been a small element in the country of antivax and antiscience and with the political divisiveness in which public health has taken a political intonation to it, where we know that if you look demographically at the country, it is less likely for a red state to get vaccinated against Covid than it is in a blue state, and deaths among Covid are more in red states than they are in blue states. That is terribly tragic that a political ideology is going to be responsible for whether or not you are healthy or not, or sick or not, or dead or not."

In other words, Dr. Fauci does not consider it any kind of victory that those who peddle antivax propaganda to conservatives have been so successful. This is evident since he actually considers it a tragedy that more conservatives are dying. If he were the ghoul that hit pieces like this try to paint him as, wouldn't he be happy that the antivax effort targeted against conservatives is so successful?

DemMom, I have been reading your paid pro-vax posts for a few weeks now.

I do not believe you ever were a scientist let alone someone who managed anything more than a dog kennel.

Some real Scientists read the medical research and decided not to get the Mod-Rna injections because they are not vaccines, and they are certainly not good for your health.

Throughout his career
(like you claim of Fauci) Adolph Hitler was also highly regarded in Germany.

Today you may be the only person I know who claims to hold Fauci in high regard, but since you lie about everything else I have no idea if you really do.

Did you happen to catch whether he made the headline claim that all unvaccinated people must be locked down this winter?

"Deaths among COVID?" Sounds like sophistry.

Let me guess, you've still got the "THANK YOU DR. FAUCI" sign out in the front yard.

Or are you just an AI bot?

This is evident since he actually considers it a tragedy that more conservatives are dying.

If you buy that pantload from this huckster, you needed to take a few more English Lit classes along with your science hours. Read between the lines: he might as well be saying "ignorant rednecks" as identifying people by how they vote. It's political racism.

There are many factors besides how people vote that contributed to the way the covid deaths were tabulated, or not, or fell between the cracks, or were manipulated into or away from VAERS during the scandalous payoff season to hospitals for every covid death, including "with" covid (oh, and that pesky end-stage pancreatic cancer), or "of" covid.

I'm glad for you that you didn't die of the vax of which you are proud; but a lot of people did; others were gravely injured; and probably more died of the monstrous protocol that denied them viable treatments until they were so sick they were put on ventilators to die in agony without their family or clergy.

If you profited, good for you. Many were ruined, and Fauci is as much to blame as any other single gazillionaire who invested in Pfizer and Moderna before the government hammer fell on defenseless paycheck-to-paycheck schlubs. Even the ones in blue states.

Fauci is an easy punching bag because he is the most notable medical tyrant. Fauci and health professionals at the CDC and FDA have done more than any antivax group to promote vaccine hesitancy and general mistrust of public health professionals.
