Cult of Personality is the same whoever it is directed at. It makes people look past the warts and only see what they want to see in a person. The person can do no wrong in their eyes. That type of blind loyalty is scary and often leads to poor outcomes for the true believers and others if the target of the Cult uses it to gain power.

Oh, I've stated my issue with him. I can understand
why he's doing it (people are ignorant) and yet it
still irks me to no end.

He calls America a democracy when America is a Constitutional Republic.
Without that foundation nothing stands.

I’m familiar with the concept but still stand by what I said. Not only have Americans long had a “cult of personality” for Washington, but many had a “cult of personality” for Churchill during WWII. The expression “cult of personality” was used (invented) by Khruschev relative to Stalin. People who bear no resemblance to Stalin include Washington, Lincoln, Churchill, Reagan and Trump, even if the silly words “cult of personality” might be applied to each.
