The plane was very deep into Russia (and Belorussia) for it to be any known western SAM. And it was too high to have been a manpad, ruling out Ukrainian agents.

And also too far into Russia to be any western AAM from a fighter. Or maybe stealthy US aircraft are way stealthier than we think?

I can’t see that last. Biden has been exceedingly risk averse up to this point.

That said, if we have planes that stealthy, Russia should just surrender now. /s

It’d be interesting if pics of pieces of the missile used turn up outside of Russian gov’t control. I was a bit surprised to see those close ups of pieces of the plane, but maybe whoever gave the order doesn’t give a s***, or maybe there was just too much ground to cover.

P.S. Might be “missiles”. Two loud bangs were heard B4 the plane started coming down. 2nd plane might have gotten lucky, too.
