Like most of the Ukraine contingent on FR who don't understand anything about military strategy or military tactics, you continue to think this Special Military Operation is about "territory", no matter how many times the Russians tell you it's about killing the Ukrainian army.

The grinding of the Ukies into burger continues apace.

And the Ukrainians blew the dam.

you continue to think this Special Military Olympiad is about "territory",

If it wasn’t about seizing territory why all the trouble of passing annexations for regions beyond the control of your troops?

no matter how many times the Russians tell you it's about killing the Ukrainian army.

Crazy what a failure that’s been considering you place it as the primary goal. The Ukrainians are going to come out the other side of this war with all kinds of ex-NATO kit that’s superior to the ex-Soviet trash they started the war with. They’ve just been given more F-16s than they had MiG-29s and Su-27s, and they’ll have an arsenal of available precision weapons for that platform.

From getting kicked out of Kherson to staring down NATO fighters from the Black Sea to the Arctic Circle! Could the Russians have screwed their strategic situation worse than this botched invasion, with the consequent grinding up of their army whilst adding members to NATO?

Because you're ignoring what the Russians themselves have said.

Once the Ukieburger army is gone, who is going to protect all those annexed regions? Poland?

It’s possible the Russians are dumb enough to think they can ‘body count’ their way to victory. America learned that doesn’t work in Vietnam, and that was with complete ownership of the skies and the firepower to win any heads up engagement.

Imagine if after Tet the US couldn’t retake half the cities the VC seized in the uprising. That’s basically the Russians in Ukraine after 2022. And now you’re convincing yourself that they’re winning a war of attrition while being driven backward by an enemy that brings online new brigades with newer gear than they started the war with.

The denial is fascinating to watch in real time.

They’ve just been given more F-16s than they had MiG-29s and Su-27s,

None delivered.

They might want some pilots, too.

I hear they might have 6-8 lined up - the claim is that they have to become proficient in English to be trained to fly the undelivered F-16s.

If the Ukies could coax The Ghost of Lucerne [Denny Davidov] out of his cush pad in Switzerland, they might have 9 pilots.

Of course, he's claiming he can only speak Swiss.

More fascinating real-time denial from you. Step away from the IPad.

Of the dozens of newer weapons systems promised to Ukraine by over a dozen countries, have any not been delivered? Seems like an ignorant thing to hang your hopes on, but you do you.

Another ignorant thing to hang your hopes on, seeing as how the US has trained people from no less than 25 countries to fly the F-16. English is the international language of air travel. You know that right?

We were talking about the vaporware F-16s, not the other weapons systems.

But, I understand that your denial is strong.

We’re talking about delivery of dozens of weapons systems from over a dozen countries, all of which have come to pass. Now you’re trying to convince yourself this one is different than the others, so I ask, on what basis do you deny this too will happen?

When it comes to pass like the others, how will you react? Will your disbelief disappear like magic, or will you pivot to how these newer and more numerous platforms are somehow worse than the old Soviet junk that Ukraine started the war with?

Here we see the mind of the neophyte who doesn't understand anything about the military, military history or usages.

His mind IMMEDIATELY goes to a non-peer war to make a faulty analogy about the current conflict.

We're observing a peer-to-peer war in The Ukraine, where the PEER adversaries are slugging it out like an Irish stand-down. Only Russia has an 8 to 1 advantage in artillery, and has totally degraded the Ukrainian air defense system.

His denial only allows him to see the rice paddies of East Asia, though.

If Russia still possesses an 8-1 advantage, why do you consider Ukraine their peer? Shouldn't the side with 8x the artillery be considerably superior to the side that has only 1/8th the artillery?

Why, with this presumed enormous artillery advantage, did the Russians find themselves forced back from Nikolaev into a "futile" position in Kherson where they were forced to flee across the river?

How bad does the Russian army suck to possess an 8-1 advantage in artillery and still get forced into retreat after retreat by the foe you started the war with?

Why do you think that is happening to the Russian forces if they possess this massive superiority in arms? Are they not even 1/8th as competent as the Ukrainians? What's the reason for their repeated reversals and retreats from "futile" fighting positions in Ukraine? How do you explain it to yourself?

The coward who is touting the Ukraine's vaporware F-16s with non-existent pilots is attacking me with his denials once again.

As the dyslexic guy said:

The neocons sling the "coward" word so easily, as they try to guilt-trip their opponents into supporting their bloody agendas. No sale, neoconned.

The fact remains that the ancient F-16s that were heading for the junkpiles of the EU have still not been delivered to the Eastern Front [making them vaporware for propaganda purposes] - nor have the non-existent pilots materialized.

The Ghost of Lucerne, Denny Davydov, will NOT be reporting for hamburger duty any time soon, as he parties the night away in the Swiss capital.

The neoconned coward presented the delivery of the vaporware F-16s and the non-existent pilots as a fait accompli - and now he's trying to cowardly wriggle his way out of his own word trap.

There are no F-16s in The Ukraine.

I don't support the neocon expansion of NATO, nor U.S. involvement in Ukraine, so your deflections are as meritless as your assessments of Russia's fighting efficacy.

My only agenda is getting you on the record explaining the defeats of the Russians and how you shoehorn horn that reality into your notions of their military supremacy.

I note that you ducked the questions again, you feckless coward. Now you’re trying to convince yourself this weapon system is different than the others, so I ask, on what basis do you deny this too will happen?

How do you explain it to yourself? You have no answers.

The fact remains that the ancient F-16s that were heading for the junkpiles of the EU have still not been delivered to the Eastern Front [making them vaporware for propaganda purposes] - nor have the non-existent pilots materialized.

Don't look now, but Portugal has joined the Netherlands, Denmark, and the US in offering training for F-16 pilots and ground crews.

Can you explain now how you'll pivot when the F-16s are delivered like the other promised weapon systems have been? Will you try to convince yourself that Ukraine is worse off replacing Soviet Cold War gear with NATO Cold War gear? How will you spin it to yourself?

I predict you'll evade and spin, and refuse to address these questions because you actually have no answer. There is no explanation for what is happening in reality juxtaposed with your fantasies about Russian combat strength.

The "neoconned in denial" Gunslingr3 wrote: "They’ve just been given more F-16s than they had MiG-29s and Su-27s..."

A US official has informed The New York Times on Thursday that the Pentagon plans to begin training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets inside the US, as part of a program which could start as early as September.

Already a program has been kicked off in the Netherlands and Denmark, which Kiev has complained has been too slow to get off the ground, also given it only includes six Ukrainian pilots. At this rate, the expected date that Ukraine could be piloting the US-made jets in battle keeps getting pushed back - from estimates of next summer to now perhaps end of 2024.

So - no F-16s yet, and a handful of untrained pilots. The original post implied that the F-16s were already there: ""They’ve just been given more F-16s than they had MiG-29s and Su- 27s".

When someone ACTUALLY gives you something, it's a bird in the hand.

Not something in the "at the end of 2024" bush.
