Mr. Manuel, the water Czar, needs to be in prison. This coupled with the road closure and disregard for the dry brush build-up around Lahaina power lines by Maui Electric all contributed to the felony loss of life on Maui. My home for more than 20 years will never be the same.
I heard he was reassigned to a non emergency part of the government. Any word where he was assigned?

As more info comes out, forget about prison, the locals might just burn him at the stake. Or toss him into a volcano, since it is Hawaii.
I read that the electric company had plans to deal with fires after a bad year in 2018(?). New equipment, clearing brush, etc. Instead they spent millions of dollars on “going green”.
I am so sorry for your island's profound loss, Kahuna. This is unspeakably sad. I've never even been to Hawai'i, but it's held in mind by many mainlanders as an American paradise. These stories are like the weeks after 9/11 to me -- they bring tears. God bless you.
