One thing compared to 2016: I don't recall the "political class" attacking an outside candidate this hard last time.
In 2016, Carly Fiorina was the "business" candidate (besides Trump), and nobody was going after her in the condescending way that Christie, Pence, and others are going after Ramaswamy.
Maybe this is an after-effect of the Trump presidency that past office-holders are treating the presidential elections as an exclusive club that only they are entitled to run for.
