Christie recommended Wray because Wray was Christie's Bridgegate lawyer.
Trump also trusted Reince Priebus' recommendations, too.
He got wiser towards the end of his administration, but by that point it was too late. Much time was squandered.
It's too bad that the FBI took out Michael Flynn at the very beginning of the Trump administration. Maybe they knew that Flynn would be the bulwark that Trump needed and took him out right away. Flynn already knew what the Obama administration was doing and needed to go for that reason alone.
Just imagine who wouldn't have been appointed by Trump if Flynn remained.
