The Special Delivery Instructions said: “Major problems here with porch pirates. Leave package next to guard snake.”
No fence?
Y’know, fake snakes might be good porch pirate deterrents.
The neighboring town opened up a public dialogue on how to control the exploding deer population. WRONG approach!! It was a year-long debate that seemed to be half in favor of “Leave Bambi Alone!” and half wanting to thin the herd WAY down. Signs sprang up all over town saying “No hunting here!”
Our town took the lesson and quietly culls the herd away from public scrutiny. Nobody knows where the deer went to. A neighbor on city council gave me strong hints, but he won’t spell it out (smart guy). I keep my lip zipped on that topic. We used to have 25-30 hanging around our place, mainly because two nearby do-gooder neighbors thought they needed feeding in the winter. Now we have a couple of does, a buck now and then, and a couple of fawns.
My garden has never looked better!
“The others get the hoe.”
How did you convince Kamala to visit and take care of your snakes?
“My lefty brother chastised me for killing a rattler by my front porch”
Wow, I feel sorry for you and your misguided brother.
The word is SSS....!!!
I shot one on my deck

I surely need new glasses, I read that twice as, “I shot one on my desk”
😆
“Awww that’s just my pet snake Reggie”

Recently watched an episode of “Gunsmoke”, an old timer had a huge pet rattler named Homer. Scared the crap outta Festus.
Are Black Racers the ones that practically stand up and run when chasing prey?
Rattlesnakes have a tough life. Because they often rattle when disturbed or threatened, they make it easy for humans to find and kill them. I read some research that most rattlesnakes in populated areas now have quieter rattles - the loud ones got wacked.
FedEx driver killed Ralphie!
That’s a crime in TN.
Ridiculous. If I find a rattlesnake I’ll kill it. Screw our law.
I typically leave snakes be, and I have six acres of land in a woody, rolling, area west of Fort Worth, Texas, so I have plenty of them. When I bought this place a little over 2 years ago, I kept seeing copperheads near my front and side porches (while we were moving in). I saw a five-foot-long black rat snake in my well house. And I have seen various other non-venomous snakes around.
I have ten grandkids, seven of whom are under 10 years old. So, after settling in, I immediately started looking for the copperhead hive and found them under some old siding and materials the remodelers were going to come to get. I killed two grown males, two younger males, and two pregnant females. Since then, I have killed one additional copperhead that was hiding under my trash bin when I went to put out my trash on a Sunday evening.
If someone has an issue with that, that is their problem, not mine!
Nah. The black snakes in Fla. are more afraid of you than you are of them.
They just eat bugs and rodents.
We used to have one that hung around our yard like a dog.
Water moccasins however are a different story. I’ve actually seen them chase people.....those things were born mean and just got more P.O.ed as they got bigger.....I’ll kill every one of those things I see.
Well, a woman I love is named Ramona
She kind of looks like Tempest Storm
She dance like little Egypt
She works down at the snake farm
Snake farm, it just sounds nasty
Snake farm, well it pretty much is
Snake farm, it’s a reptile house
Snake farm, ugh.
Hat tip to Ray Wylie Hubbard. Song was written about an actual snake farm in New Braunfels, Texas. There was an episode of “Dirty Jobs” that featured the snake farm.
Wow, I feel sorry for you and your misguided brother."
Lol. There's a reason he lives in California.
There is a species of rattlesnake in the Calif/Nevada desert called “MOJAVE GREEN”.
THEY WILL CHASE YOU-—EVEN UPHILL & EVEN WHEN YOU ARE ON HORSEBACK.
BEEN THERE & IT HAPPENED.
CAlif has plenty of rattlesnakes.
IF your brother has a dog & it gets bit-—IT will take plenty of money for treatments & it will be lucky to survive.
