What most of these numb nuts don’t realize is that the police force is not there to protect the public or their property, but to insure a proper process is followed when catching and punishing criminals.
The public will not tolerate lawlessness willingly if they have the means to stop it. And we do. They will take action collectively, or individually to restore order and defend themselves and their livelihood.
Is everyone familiar with the phrase, “Wild West Justice”. The only reason we don’t have it now is that everyone knows the police will come get you if you dare to defend yourself or your property.
If the police went away, this type of instant justice would return posthaste.
I personally, think that would be an improvement in most of the country.

My point being, the War Between the States was over the totalitarian bent the US Government was taking towards SOME of it’s citizens, and the habit of Congress implementing new, targeted taxes aimed at the southern states and which benefited the northern states. The issue of slavery was a pretext, as Lincoln never “freed the slaves”, he just freed the slaves in the seceded states, and famously, and insisted that the south had no right to secede, because, “who will pay the taxes to run the government”?
