I prefer a contested primary.

So far, it’s been one-sided.

It seems doubtful DeSanctus can hurt trump.

He seemingly can’t even run a campaign.

I smell the Lincoln Project Lurking. I’ll pass on Ron in any form even if he joins to Trump.

So true and I might add what campaign?. DeSantis isn’t really campaigning. Biden Isnt campaigning at all. And neither is Trump for that matter. He’s holding a few rallies, truth ing and speaking out against the 4 indictments. That’s not campaigning. All the low info wanna bees are doing nothing except showing up for the GOP non debate.

I think pretty much everyone realizes on some level its more than likely there will not be a 2024 election. Other things will be in play.

There is nothing to contest.

Trump was the nominee as of Jan 7, 2020 as long as he decided to run.

He did, and it’s over.

You think any of the folks running have any shot of beating Trump? If you do you clearly haven’t been paying attention.

Trump is the most dominant player in the political arena, on either side of the aisle.

The sitting “President” doesn’t even have the impact and control of the public consciousness as much as Trump.

Desantis, not a go of the other also rans ever had any prayer of having any meaningful impact on the primary once Trump announced.

They are welcome and free to run, and try, but they are irrelevant.

DeSantis’ claims around electability are a joke, he has next to no support from the rank and file and is completely owned by the establishment money men (Cheney et al). Desantis is a terrible retail politician, it’s abundantly clear to anyone honestly watching him on the stump that this guy will be eaten alive in a national campaign, and why he’d have lost to a corrupt drug addict in 2018 had Trump not come in and dragged him over the finish line.

You want a truly contested primary you need to have someone with the ability to actually contest, the field of candidates trying to take on Trump are woefully inadequate to do so, Tucker eviscerated every single one of them with what were honestly pretty mild questioning.. why? Simple, what they stand for is what their money men want, not what the electorate or American people want.

With each passing day, what isn’t in doubt is that, at least for 2024, for all the good he has done DeSantis cannot carry a national election. If he doesn’t (further) hurt his public persona during this primary, DeSantis may very well be in a position to win the nomination in 2028.

“It seems doubtful DeSanctus can hurt trump.”

He can only hurt himself.

It’s the DeSantis people that need a truce...in order to preserve hope for him ever holding a federal office.

And I think it’s too late no matter what. All hope they may have held for that has been squandered and pissed on.

He cudda been somebody.

It seems doubtful DeSanctus can hurt trump.

Don't underestimate the ability of Trump to hurt Trump.
