The strapped city has already expanded its controversial migrant complex on Randall’s Island’s youth soccer fields to house 3,000 people — 50% more than expected — before asylum seekers even moved in Sunday. The site, which will now consist of five dormitory-style tents, began housing the first wave of migrants there in the afternoon, with about 150 single men expected before the end of the day, city officials said. “This isn’t the solution for the next two, three, four months — this is giving us a little breathing room for the next few days, really,” warned Christina Farrell, the city’s first deputy commissioner of Emergency Management, to reporters during a tour Sunday. Each air-conditioned sleeping tent will house 600 green and black cots, while a dining tent featuring long white tables will offer three meals a day.

New York?
They are N O T asylum seekers -
those seeking asylum are to take the first country they land in to ask for asylum.
This is a planned invasion.
Yeah, they really built this for 2 or 3 days of use.
And sure, they’ve got lots of families and single women, too. This 3,000-soldier base just happens to be fighting-age single men.
Sounds like New York has it handled and desperately needs a Few Hundred Thousand More Illegal Aliens.
A lot of the great and good “leaders” need to “wet their beaks” while being compassionate with other peoples’ money.
Four million dollars per month for a tent?
Bring back Tammany Hall experts.
That’s $6,666 per month per illegal being house, or just under $80,000 per year. I suppose that’s about as efficient as the government can be. Your tax dollars at work.
three sheets of 4’x8’ plywood, three 2x4s, four concrete blocks, one tarp and one sleeping bag per invader
and a few guys with table saws
I don’t understand why our communist government is allowing this invasion. We have a military that is sitting on their hands while the USA has been invaded and taken over.
New York deserves this after all the years of their crap about being ‘above it all’ and being so welcoming to ‘immigrants’ yearning to be free... Send ‘em 20 million more. Yep, these are the ‘huddled masses’ New York asked for...

Built on the site of Griffith Park Aerodrome, in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, the Village consisted of 750 Quonset huts, temporary buildings made of corrugated steel, which were intended to house 1,500 families. At peak residence, over 5,000 persons lived there.
Built in approximately two months (and over the objections of the Griffith family, who had donated the park to the city), the Village was dedicated on 27 April 1946 and closed in the mid-1950s. The Quonset camp met a desperate need for living space. Thousands of Californians had left the area for military duty. When these men and women returned from the war, they found that housing had been taken by the thousands who had come to work in plants producing war material.
As the veterans were discharged from the service, they found themselves with no place to live. Rodger Young Village, named for Private Rodger Wilton Young, was one of several such projects under the control of the Los Angeles City Housing Authority. Veterans and their families were able to rent living space at reasonable rates, while waiting for the post-war housing “boom” to counter the post-war housing “crunch.”

Lads, you’re going to work construction.
Teams of 10 will be going to various farms where you will build agricultural barracks, and outhouses.
Your pay? You’ll have a place to sleep and be safe.
Ask the farmer if he needs help picking apples or doing other farm work.
Better get used to it.
You’ve got a whole lot of destitute people, unskilled, uneducated and who don’t speak English.
Will be a long time - if ever - before they’ll be able to take care of themselves.
The more you coddle them and take care of them and the more free s—t you give them the more they will continue to invade us.
Gee what if that was spent on infrastructure development in Central America that would provide jobs to these men?
Yep some of the tax payers are still working.
It's NY City so as usual only a very small percentage of that money will actually make it through the hands of the politicians and well-connected to be spent on the project itself.
