The road (from Reno) up to Lake Tahoe is the highest elevation road that is
kept plowed all year long I believe.

I've driven it twice. A canyon through walls of snow 20 feet tall in places.
It's pretty amazing.

I-70 west of Denver is much higher.

I drove that once. Don't remember it that impressive but have no doubt. I've seen the road to Steamboat Springs, CO get close to looking like that. Either way winter in the mountains can be something when it comes to nature dishing it out.

Mt Rose Highway was closed off & on a number of times this past winter.
