The concept of labor being a commodity under capitalism is the opinion of Marx and Engels, so needless to say I'd be wary of adopting that idea.Lol. Tell that to my Econ 101 professor back in the day. He was no Marxist.

Lol. Tell that to my Econ 101 professor back in the day. He was no Marxist. And why should I care about the opinion of some no-name professor? There are a lot of economists and professors who aren't Marxists that I wouldn't trust for any financial or economic advice.
But that's why I also mentioned the legal aspect: it is a point of statute (as noted in the Clayton Antitrust Act of 1914) in American law that "the labor of a human being is not a commodity or article of commerce."
