The thing is, all of the current candidates are tainted, because the perception is they all think they are better than Trump, or are just expecting Trump to be taken out of the picture.
Which is why my theory is, if it’s not Trump, the nominee will be someone who isn’t currently in the race. Someone who is keeping their shirt nice and clean, waiting for it all to blow over before jumping in.
And most likely that’s going to be Governor Youngkin.
I agree with your theory as a possible scenario, though don’t count out the uniparty bosses will decide once Trump is out ... and as stoopid as they are ... they could pick someone from the current slate.
From my keyboard, that’s how DeSantis should have played it ... stay in the headlines but out of the race.
