The Kremlin has claimed it has downed two Ukrainian missiles aimed at Russia's Kerch Bridge to Crimea - as video shows smoke billowing over the crucial link to the annexed peninsula.
The 12-mile crossing carries heavy significance for Moscow, both logistically and psychologically, as a key artery for military and civilian supplies and as an assertion of Kremlin control of the peninsula it illegally annexed in 2014.
Russia's foreign ministry vowed retaliation for what it called a 'terrorist attack' on the bridge in Crimea.

Its just the Russians using smoke bombs in a drill or some sort of test. Nothing to see.
That guy’s in the way of the real interesting sights.

Tire dump burning - nothing to see. Just Russians making was on the environment. First it was Lake Baikal, now its the Kersh bridge.
More Ukrainian drones on their way to Crimea right now…
No, it was two old Uke Soviet S200 missiles from last century. Apparently, that’s what the $150Billion in American tax dollars that you supported pi$$ing away on Uke corruption buys.
Considerate of the Ukrainians to let anyone who wants to play Russian roulette just take a trip on the Kerch bridge.
LOL
No one’s buying your propaganda anymore 🤣🤣🤣
Many in the Uke Rah-rah brigade believe that if they can take out that bridge—Zelenskyy has won the war and Russia will be forced to surrender. I do not think that would be the game changer they need. Is that the only thing keeping the war machine of Russia going?
.
Obviously that means the US should send them a few ATACMS, so they wont have to extemporize long range weapons.
Your argument is otherwise incoherent.
It would help to add more stress to the Russian logistical situation in the southern front, yes. Very much like blasting the Dneiper bridges did to the Kherson bridgehead.
Its not the whole of the interdiction job, but its part of it. Its a complex problem.
Other parts include:
- Shutting down Crimean ports with air and naval drones and, hopefully soon, long range missiles. Its already unsafe to approach Sebastopol with ordinary cargo ships. I expect the Russians to start using escorted convoys at some point.
- Shutting down Azov Sea ports like Berdyansk with Stormshadow, etc.
- Shutting down road and rail bridges out of Crimea (Stormshadow).
- Blowing up ammo and fuel dumps in Crimea.
- Cutting highways that run close to the Dneiper, thats what those river crossings are about. That seems like the only good road from Perekop to Melitopol.
Look at a map, hopefully showing road and rail, of the theater. That should make the necessary strategy obvious.
They're gonna press-gang harder and faster, now. 16 year-olds.
