Ugh! I haven’t dealt with that yet. I’ve had problems for 25 years. Hereditary. After the fire I couldn’t buy enzymes anywhere. Couldn’t order online..had no address or computer! I can’t digest fruit and I wound up living on a fruit farm for 2 months. It took 2 years to get somewhat back to normal.

I hope you never do! There’s something extra special about watching the paramedics work on you from somewhere near the ceiling. Wouldn’t have survived without morphine.

NPO for 4 or 5 days, “to allow the pancreas to cool down”, removal of my gall bladder and sent on my way. Due to the morphine, I distinctly remember 21 days of that 5 days. I digested enough of my own innards that when I sit up my belly bulges in a ridge down the center. Also got a followup gut infection that my PCP stubbornly refused to call peritonitis. Fun times, fun times...
