He’s trying to pander to the establishment and not be ‘Trump’. Which is an innate problem - the people are thinking what Trump is saying. It’s a campaign flaw that isn’t fixable.

RCP has Trump leading DeSantis 54 to 16, wider yet in some states. The ratio in the comments here is similar. The endless attacks on fellow conservatives makes you think Trump and his supporters believe the race is going to tighten, opposite of what they are saying.

In the news is the 1.7 Trillion dollar deficit, millions of illegals flooding across our border, and hundreds of other things going wrong, destroying our country, and the obsession instead is on bringing down the distant second place conservative who (also) wants to fix things?

Dividing the movement is not a winning strategy. The name calling is tiresome, trivializes the Left regime threat. Most of the 16% like myself voted for Trump twice, supported his policies and have defended him endlessly, as we lost the 2018 election, 2020 *, 2022, 4 Senate races in Georgia, his hand picked candidates in AZ and PA, and the majority in the Senate, and what happened to the 40 seat win in the House?

* Whatever the cheat is, you beat it by going after a wider margin of victory, not a narrower one. The tie goes to the Dem. We must win the right and the center, now, or we will be governed by the Left - forever.

You might think a little introspection would be in order, but no. Not even a commitment to support whoever wins, even with a 38 point lead. Good grief.

PS, Trump had a HORRIBLE first debate in 2020, couldn’t handle the two against one format. Watch it again if you don’t believe me. Now he thinks debates are for second place. His advisers say it’s too risky for him, he can only go down from where he is. Really? Why wouldn’t his support go up with a great performance?

In my view, he is not above the fray until his general election numbers approach 60%. Debating your challengers is how you refine and showcase your skills and your message. I have no idea which candidates will shine or fall flat in the debates. That’s why we have them.

Backing into the playoffs and losing the next round is no strategy, and this isn’t a game.

Ok now back to name calling memes - if losing the general election is what you want.
