Nobody knows, that’s the problem. Everything he does is a performance, an act, inauthentic. And disloyal

I have really been disappointed with DeSantis during this campaign. He is so inauthentic and so he comes across as cringy and stiff. His handlers put him in store bought jeans, cowboy boots and big belt buckles in order to "connect" with the average Joes. He then comes across as a total fake. It's like the CEO of your company showing up to the company picnic in cargo shorts and crocs - that you know he would never wear among his peers when vacationing in Martha's Vineyard.

Trump never did that. Sure, he looked out of place strolling through the Iowa State Fair in a slick NYC business suit, but you knew Trump was staying true to himself and not trying to pretend he's just a regular Joe.

The fakery, like John Kerry saying during another campaign, "Where can I get me a fishin' license?", is very condescending to the voters and they see right through the charade.

DeSantis was very ill-prepared for this campaign. He was thrust into it prematurely by RINO folks whispering in his ear that Trump was going to prison and so he ought to set himself up sooner, rather than later, to claim the nomination.

This kind of crass opportunism is very off-putting to Trump voters, who rightully believe Trump was cheated in 2020. No wonder Trump and his supporters are so angry with DeSantis. It would be like your best friend having designs on your beautiful wife after you get diagnosed with terminal cancer. Your best friend can't even wait until you are properly in your grave before making moves on her.

DeSantis should have focused on being governor of Florida, which he apparently was doing a good job at, and bided his time for the 2028 campaign. He likely would have earned the support of Trump and the MAGA base.

Instead, he decided to cast his lot with the RINOS and the establishment. Very sad.
