“And, as 2022 demonstrated, Gen-Z learned how to vote and enjoyed doing it. They will come out in numbers.”

This, as much as anything else, is going to be responsible for a political re-alignment on a national level. Millennials and Gen-Z are not becoming more conservative in the traditional sense. Some of them have become more libertarian, but they support legalized weed, abortion, trans and gay rights. It may be possible for the GOP to make inroads with this demographic, but that will mean shelving the culture war issues and focusing on less regulation, less taxes.

There won’t be any change until people experience the pain that comes from making the wrong choices.

Millennials and Gen-Z are not becoming more conservative in the traditional sense.

People become more conservative not as they grow older but as they have children and white Millennials/Gen-Z aren't having children. They believe, rightly or wrongly, that they can't afford them and there's no point in bringing kids into a world being destroyed by climate change. Minorities can have all the children they want because we're paying for them and as such they'll remain firmly in the Democrat camp. And minorities, to their credit, aren't buying the climate change nonsense.

Getting married, having kids, buying homes. These are the major life events that move people from Democrat to Republican, mostly for policies that are advantageous to these life events and young whites are doing none of these things.
