China on Friday said it would send a senior official to Saudi Arabia for weekend talks on finding a peaceful settlement to the war in Ukraine, a forum that excludes Russia, in a diplomatic coup for Kyiv, the West and the Saudi hosts.
Ukrainian and Western diplomats hope the meeting in Jeddah of national security advisers and other senior officials from some 40 countries will agree on key principles for a future peace settlement to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
Chinese Special Envoy for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui will visit Jeddah for the talks, China's foreign ministry said on Friday.

China playing the angles; what else is new?
Ya, that’s brilliant! Have peace talks to negotiate peace, but don’t include Russia. There’s no arguments that way. LOL
Or the Russia serfs now must dance for their Chinese masters.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine might be their biggest regret yet.
To make things worse, they seem like excluded Ukraine either.
Sources said Saudi Arabia has invited about 30 countries, and while Ukraine is going to attend, Russia will not.

It actually makes sense if the purpose is to stage an Intervention with Zelensky and get him off his “Greatest Offensive” high horse and tell him that the longer he drags out this war, the more of Ukraine will be lost to Russia, and likely Poland and other countries too.
So, would they press Ukraine into a surrender? Saudi Arabia and China aren’t particularly pro-Western.
China and Saudi know Putin’s days are numbered.
Numbered by whom? What makes you think that Putin’s replacement would be less assertive?
The oligarchs want their yachts back. And Prigozhin is free as a bird.
So Gucci’s cost more in Moscow - big deal. Pretty much everything else Russia still makes, or, at worst buys from China.
They have their yachts in Dubai, and if you think that Prigozhin is your guy I pity you.
Russian industrial sector have seen a growth of 13% since last year. The biggest problem to the economy is a labor shortage and explosive growth in wages.

You can see the power of the Western Media when people, EVEN HERE, actually believe that a replacement for Putin (most likely Medvedev) would be ‘better’ for the West (LOL). If anything, the West should be sending their BEST DOCTORS to Moscow to help Putin (if he even needs help), as their war in Ukraine will become VERY DIFFERENT for Europe once Putin is out.
Note also how they allow themselves to fall for the Alinsky tactic of “personalizing” a dispute, rather than looking at things objectively, as most MAGA people are able to do.

I’ve been hearing the same, thanks.
Russia has far more of their economy tethered to China than we do. If Xi orders Putin to give up Crimea, Vlad has to obey.
