Kemp and that Spaningberger [sp.] guy came out on top.

That’s all that matters to them.

Yep. Although I suspect Kemp had made the deal for only one of those seats. He didn’t expect Loeffler to lose. Kemp had burned a few bridges with conservatives by appointing her to Isakson’s seat when there were other more qualified (albeit with less money) possible candidates for that position. Most would have easily won the election for the seat the following year. It was only supposed to be the cousin of the former governor, Sonny Perdue, who lost his Senate election. Kemp thought the deal was that Loeffler would win. The left betrayed him but at that point there was nothing he could do lest he admit his own election “collusion”.
