Clearly the woman can’t read because nowhere in the literature is it written that there was an upside to slavery.

It's a very touchy subject that nobody wants to discuss except, perhaps, serious historians.

But, there actually were some upsides. If you compared the life of an African slave to that of an Irish indentured servant, the slaves had it much better. The slaves were fed. They received healthcare. They had shelter and clothing. They had days off.

But we're not allowed to discuss these historical facts.

Yes, slavery was without a doubt an abomination that sealed the destruction of this country from Day One but it wasn't a total horror show for the slaves, many of whom would fight on the side of the South and then regain employment from their former masters after the Civil War was over (with much less benefits than they previously enjoyed),

One only needs to travel to Liberia where they curse their ancestors for leaving the United States.
