RE: I am not a Trump supporter, anymore

Just curious, what happened to cause you to change your mind about Trump?

I am still an avid, walk on my knees across a mile of broken glass to vote for Donald Trump supporter.

I can’t speak for others, but that is me.

It was a long painful road to separate from Trump. It really started with corona. I am a scientist/engineer, and I took huge interest in what was happening from the very start. Trump had my heart when he first called it a hoax. I believed that then and I still believe it now. But he didn’t stick with that. He went hard the other direction. I hung with him mostly, but when it got to some of those exec orders for free rent and college, and paying people to stay at home, I felt he had lost his way, completely. Rushing through a “vaccine” by changing the definition of vaccines, and not focusing on therapeutics as he had originally, seemed misguided, at best. The world knew Fauci was behind gain of function, at Wuhan, but Trump refused to even address the subject, ever.

Then how he seemed so inept during the election, and it’s aftermath. The pointless J6 rally, that everyone told him in advance would blow up in his face. I was still handling all this at the time, and supporting him though.

Another real eye opener came when it was announced he had collected $250M in December 2020 alone, for election security. I fought with other Freepers here who were laughing and saying Trump was just scamming people. I said no he’s not, he’s building a website to track the fraud and will bring it in new court cases. But right after J6, Trump disappeared. Went to build a website, all right, but not to track election fraud.

Then in late 2021 I was faced with having to take the vaccine, or lose my six figure job, close to retirement. I debated, and one of the main reasons I rlented and took it was that Trump swore by it. Then, immediately after taking it, my feet started swelling like ridiculously. I went to my doctor, who said it was heart related. I was shocked as I had been playing tennis up to three times a week for decades, along with swimming and lots of other physical work that kept me in great shape.

I couldn’t get in to see a cardiologist for 6 months, they were so backed up from vaccine injuries. While I was waiting, Trump has this stupid interview, his first in months, where he claimed HE invented the vaccines himself, and that there were one of the greatest achievements in the history of mankind! If I could have jumped through the screen and grabbed him by the collar I probably would have. I was seriously pissed about that, considering what people already knew about these shots by then.

So I was officially on the wall about Trump then in early 2022. He wasn’t doing jack squat to contest 2020, or to secure 2022, just running around boasting about his stupid shots. Then Dr. Oz, I said a muzzie? WTH Trump?! A lot of his other star candidates for 2022 were just as weak. Then Trump comes out on the eve of the actual election, trashing DeSantis as DeSanctimonious. This was just too much. I live in Florida and I was furious, not knowing if it might cost DeSantis the election, on the very day before, no less.

Thankfully DeSantis won but Trump got destroyed in the swing states. Yet he’s out there bragging about how great he supposedly did, which was ridiculous. I was just thinking how hard it was going to be to keep supporting him from then on.

Then, Joe Biden and the democrats got the gay marriage law passed. A truly horrible day for America. It was such a sad thing to see. A couple days later, when many people were still mourning that new law, an article or two show up that Trump was actually having a “gay gala” at his house the night the law passed. I was nauseated. I knew it was over for me and Trump.

I started to see things in a whole new perspective. I felt comfort from God in my decision. It was a long painful break up, as you can see by this response, but I’m now certain it was the right choice for me. I will vote for him if he wins the primary, but not before. And I don’t think he has a snowball’s chance in the general if he even makes it that far. He’s lost the trust of too many people, which didn’t happen overnight. In my case it took a few years. But boy are things clear once you’re out from under that spell. Many people still supporting him are suffering from group think, peer pressure, and desperation brought on by the trauma of 2020.
