The guys on FR that give me cause for grief are the ones who comment on every positive article, saying “Nothing will happen, or none of this will do any good”.

Agree 100%. What if the colonists, instead of fighting for independence, just laid down and said - 'nothing will happen'. What it comes down to is the willingness to suffer for what you believe in.
