No mention they changed how the temp is measured for these reports. They were measured in air 6' above the ground. Now they are buried in the ground. Clearly the air temp will change more quickly than the earth, so the end-of-summer temps will show a heat accumulation that the air won't show. Conversely, in Spring the Earth-temp will be lower than the air, if they are measuring it then. We don't hear the winters are getting longer and colder, now, do we?

Clever, right?

Even above ground temps, over the years, is biased towards GlowBull Boiling. Stab from 16 years ago - weather stations used to be whitewashed, now latex paints are used, biasing the thermometers inside:
