No, I’m not okay with it. There’s two problem that exist. 1.) American colleges don’t admit enough American students into STEM majors. That’s another visa related problem. American colleges admit foreign students because they make pay the most in tuition. That’s especially the case with state affiliated schools because the price difference of in-state students vs. out-of-state/foreign students. That means there are fewer qualified American men graduating college and getting tech jobs. I’m not talking about degrees from some community college or the likes of ITT Tech. Those are worth chit.

2.) The H1B program, another visa problem. Businessmen have to deal with these real issues. It’s about having the people to do the work and constantly expand.

I owned a software engineering consulting firm for just over 25 years. I had to hire green cards because there weren’t enough decent American employee candidates. It was very disconcerting. Back when I was doing that it wasn’t to remain financially competitive, although foreigners were less expensive. It was a matter of just having competent people to take on more contracts. I would hire Americans if I could find them and if they were competent any day of the week over a foreigner simply because of the ability to communicate natively in English with our customers.
