Liberals, including some here, like to repeat the myth that the war on drugs was a failure. Come to Oregon and see the results of having “No war on drugs.” Should we eliminate the “War on murder”, since it is also a failure according to liberal standards?

If the goal was to eliminate drug use, it failed. If the goal was to make government agencies and the drug traffickers rich, then it was a roaring success.

Come to Oregon and see the results of having “No war on drugs.”

The result is the druggies flocked to Oregon. You didn't go to Oregon and start using drugs because they made it legal, did you?

Should we eliminate the “War on murder”, since it is also a failure according to liberal standards?

No, because in the case of murder you're hurting and killing other people. In the case of drug use you're only hurting yourself, just as with alcohol and cigarettes.

If you cause others harm while loaded, then you should have to answer for it, as we already do with drunk drivers. There are plenty of laws in place already, including corrupting kids by introducing them to drugs, to punish anyone who causes others harm while under the influence. Why not just enforce those laws?
