“We do have some control on the aging process.”

I’m glad you are doing well. But I believe a large part of it is beyond our control; genetics, luck, God’s will, etc.

My mom (today would have been her birthday) lived to 6 months shy of 100. Lived on her own and was driving on San Diego freeways only months before she died. No exercise. Not one for a healthy diet either. Drank a lot of alcohol. Avoided doctors and their advice. Refused to take medicine prescribed for her. And she was as sharp as a tack up to the day of her death.

Some people ‘do everything right’ and find themselves in decline in their late 50s.

Bless her heart. I like her and admire her independence. Refusing to take prescriptions resonates with me. I’m the queen of side effects and my MD knows it, prescribes nutritional supplements instead.

And then, genes play a large part. You are blessed with some of hers, hope you live long and thrive too.

And in the end, we all die of something.
