Voter discontent with Germany's coalition government has reached a high point. The far-right populists are the only opposition party to benefit from this trend, according to the latest Deutschlandtrend survey.

Yes, it's true, the Alternative has moved ahead of the Social Democrats into second place in the polls in Germany. I noticed some Freepers mentioning the rise of the Alternative in various threads. I thought I'd give this development its own thread.
I trust when they take control there will be much retribution.
Germans are ready to vote for whoever is openly and unapologetically against 3rd World immigration.
Screw “values” and “compassion”; they want THEIR kids, the Native Germans, to have a homeland.
Far right is a label like racist, homophobe and climate denier. Like any other label it means whatever the author means it to mean and that can change with the hour. I gather the actual meaning of far right is anyone not as left as me.
Am I getting warm?
Get ready for it to be the strongest party in Deutschland!
“There’s evidence of a political shift in Germany: The Alternative for Germany (AfD), parts of which are considered right-wing extremists,”
I think I’ll adopt this approach as in:
The Democratic party, parts of which are Marxists, environmental extremists, and sexual perverts, ...
“Far right” to leftists is attached to populist or nationalist groups to imply “Nazis”, who were never far right, but die hard socialists of a different version than communists, but just as deadly.
“Far Right” really means those that love their country and are tired of seeing it being demolished and overrun by low life immigrants and leftist scum leadership.
The only thing that makes them “far Right” is that they disagree with the Establishment.
This is typical of the German media (which is even worse than ours) and the entire German political class. Anytime anybody actually disagrees with them about substantive issues, they start hyperventilating, screaming “they’re just like Hitler!” and “They’re going to drag us all back to the trenches!!!”.
I’ve seen this ridiculous song and dance from them for over 30 years as they continue to pursue deeply unpopular policies no matter whether its the so-called Center Left SPD or Center Right CDU/CSU in power.
It’s funny how the definition of the “Far Right” has ‘transitioned’ from wanting to genocide Jews (and some others) to wanting to control their borders and prevent WW3.
I’ll make 4 oberservations:
1. Merkel’s crew arranged a rather poor candidate for their party (instead of Merz), and this gave SPD Party weaker candidate a chance to win. Over 18 months, you can describe the SPD-Green-FDP coalition leading the government as incredibly naïve, incompetent and unable to sell their agenda.
2. Because of the continual missteps....AfD comes up (oddly as the ones who are mostly anti-coalition (the Merkel crew led by Merz now isn’t exactly on turbo).
3. AfD has a marginal list of platforms (mostly anti-migrant, anti-Ukraine war, anti-public TV). If you list the coalition agenda items (probably 30 of them)...they get out there and describe the agenda items as stupid or ill-planned. This draws attention, thus polling shows people supporting them but in a normal election...they’d never vote for them.
4. Finally, to AfD being extreme-right wing? There’s probably three of their politicians who remind you of that Austrian-turned-German from the 1930s/1940s. Their speeches/chatter remind you of the era. Beyond that...AfD isn’t a real contender and I don’t think they can mount a serious campaign beyond 15-percent unless the SPD-Green-FDP coalition went full blast with stupid acts.
Footnote, if you haven’t noticed in the past week...Berlin city election crappiness from fall 2021 has come up in the Constitutional Court. They already decided the city mayor/senate election of 2021 was screwed up and forced them to redo the city election entirely. Well...someone sued because at the same time...the federal election was run (screwed-up as well). The Constitutional Court has to decide if that election will be rerun now (18 months later). If this election has to re-occur, AfD likely takes a fair number of votes over the 2021 results, and will create a ripple effect to worry public news people even more (unnecessarily).
Sounds much like the US where anyone who is not a complete communist is described as “far right”.
The NPD is a full on Nazi party which the AfD is absolutely not.
When I see a story that says “far right”, I know to like that party.
Do they ever say “far left”?
