Billionaire hedge fund manager who was key DeSantis backer 'has PAUSED support for Florida governor's ailing 2024 campaign after "growing impatient" with his poor performance'
Dailymail ^ | July 13, 2023 | Keith Griffith

Ken Griffin, founder of Miami-based hedge fund Citadel, is frustrated with DeSantis' lack of progress in the GOP primary race, and has 'hit the pause button' on his support, ABC News reported on Thursday, citing a person familiar with Griffin's thinking.

However, Griffin's spokesperson dismissed the claim, telling DailyMail.com: 'Ken is not pausing anything. He continues to assess the field.'

According to sources cited in the recent ABC News report, Griffin has grown impatient as he waits for DeSantis to show progress as a presidential candidate.

The outlet reported that other GOP donors have privately begun to question DeSantis' viability while Trump remains a candidate, and discussed holding back contributions until 2028, or until Trump is no longer a factor in the race.

This while team desantis is suppose to re-organize their campaign

And the last few desantis supporters/nevertrumper excuses why desanctus isn't doing well

desantis can beat biden in the general, but Trump can't
Trump is hateable, while desanti has no character, he's not hateable.
Need a plan b if Trump is killed by the deep state
Trump needs to be at the debates for people to really know Trump

yes, someone said desantis should be considered a plan b

I feel sorry for him.

Full disclosure: I am a Trump fan and voted for him the primary and Michigan elections both times. Part of the 10,400 votes to carry Michigan in the first one. Slender margin.

Still want us to unite and fight the common enemy together.

Kenneth Griffin - Ballotpedia

Donated big time to Rahm Emanuel, and a Super PAC that backed Emanuel for Mayor of Chicago, Obama, Kerry, Bill Nelson, Paul Ryan and others.

My governor is not just a Zero Charisma personality. Worse, he’s completely unlikable. My family is very active in Florida politics. We all campaigned and voted for Desantis because of President Trump’s endorsement. We have seen Governor Desantis on numerous occasions.
My wife who is a nationalized US citizen told me after the first meeting, he’s a cold, dead fish. He gives me the creeps. But, if President Trump endorses him I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. But, only because of President Trump.

A cold, dead fish? Not sure I understand this meaning. I haven’t been paying too much attention to actual election politics as it’s still aways away but seems the general consensus is that DeSantis has “no personality.” Everyone has one though so I don’t really get it lol.

More proof the claim that “all the globalist bankers are lined up behind DeSantis” was a lie from the start. The truth is they’ve never really liked him because he’s so conservative on issues like gay marriage and Disney. Trump and his supporters will slurp up their donations in the end and act like there’s nothing wrong with it.

Not only that. Ken Griffith Citadel Capital hedge fund was the main backer of that stupid Melvin hedge fund as well as RobinHood discount brokerage.

When the GameStop and meme stock short squeeze nearly wiped out Melvin, Robinhood froze every account so they couldn’t buy any of the shorted stockes.

Then he got his @sshole cronies to limit buying by other discount brokers, as well as on some trading platforms.

This guy is the ultimate in crony capitalism, and the fact that he ever wanted DeSantis is a huge black flag for deSantis.

I feel sorry for him. (DeSantis)

I don’t. I like DeSantis, but he’s revealing that he doesn’t really know how to play the game. Should have gone all in with Trump, and then DeSantis had a chance to be a two term MAGA POTUS, with a road paved ahead of him.

Trump is likely a genuine NY prick, I’m certain. Charming and charismatic, as big ego New Yorkers (City) seem to be. My comparable on a smaller scale was George Steinbrenner. Wanted things his way, and if you were with him, would drag you along with. And if you got in his way, steamrolled you in a heartbeat. Loved the guy, because he was on my side.

DeSantis may be many good things, but he’s no New Yorker, and isn’t going to zing Trump in the least.

And donors are revealing themselves to be in a buyer’s market, and want money back. .

>>>Donated big time to Rahm Emanuel, and a Super PAC that backed Emanuel for Mayor of Chicago, Obama, Kerry, Bill Nelson, Paul Ryan and others.<<<

Until last summer he used to live in Chicago and his hedge fun was based in Chicago. So PAC money for the Illinois politicians is just the normal corruption necessary to get what you want in Chicago. Now Bill Nelson and Paul Ryan, well that tells the real tale imo.

He’s a low character opportunist feasting on the still warm corpse of America that was. I can think of no more contemptible a figure, save his pushy social climbing wife and the wretched and nasty influencers his campaign is paying.

The Gays Against Groomers Lady (man- talk about filters- she looks great on her Twitter- but in real life- Rosie O’Donnell vibes big-time) was on TimCast the other evening- her name is Jaimee Miller- her sneering condescension was typical of DeSantian’s, who, by and large, are strivers/ tryhards slightly outside of the Uniparty establishment they want so much to be a part of. Disgusting people overall.

Barely closeted homosexual Benny Johnson as her former boss is chef’s kiss.

This is complete bullshit. Nobody is paying attention to politics right now. They’re at the lake, having BBQs, and enjoying the sunshine. Only morons believe that the current polls reflect reality.

Apparently you can only win by locking down America and signing blank checks to big pharma and planned parenthood. Support of groomer Disney is apparently paying off for both Trump and Haley.
Man, they would be the Marxists dream team. She has competition though from big pharma ramaswamy.

Y’all know that at this point in the 2016 primary, Trump’s campaign looked like a disorganized joke too right?

In July 2015, this forum was highly skeptical of his presidential campaign, which was being run on vapors and free media (encouraged by the Clinton campaign who saw him as a laughingstock and encouraged the media to put him on the air as much and as long as possible.) Trump was still on his first campaign manager, who was himself still months away from that overblown incident with Michelle Fields.

I’m not saying Trump is doomed to the same failures as Jeb!, I’m just pointing out that there’s more than a year to go before the nominating convention.

Me thinks the poster protests ignorance w/o even looking up terms.
“Cold fish is an idiom which refers to person who lacks emotion and warmth of personality. The persons having cold fish personality are dull, aloof and do not respond to others. Even they may be rude at times.”
“What is a cold fish personality?
Someone who shows no emotion and seems unfriendly is called a cold fish”

“What is the charisma of a dead fish?
If someone has the personality of a dead fish, it means they’re incredibly boring to be around.”
“someone who has the personality of a dead fish lacks depth. They show little to no emotion. They’re often either bland or aloof / distant. They don’t really provide much feedback so they aren’t the type of person to hold a conversation with. The person is physically present, but their mind isn’t.

They don’t respond right away and might not be as reactive as others. They’re not very passionate or affectionate either. They usually don’t like to be coddled and have a hard time expressing themselves.”

I guess that about covers it. Politicians who knew DeSantis as a congressman have commented similarly.
