Making something meaningful.


Yeah, basically this involves coming up with some elaborate cultural-centric story that the students can somehow find meaning in.

I can see doing that once or twice to illustrate a concept. That turning everything into that becomes exhausting. Even worse, the student will fail to comprehend the abstract ocncept, which is the most important thing.

My experience is that students find “word problems” more difficult than “plug and chug,” for instance.
