Good morning, Undeaders!!! I'm finally here!!! I was going to piggy-back off the office computer, since it's right next door, but it's a new system, and it seems when it shuts down, it shuts off completely. There are a lot of things Chuck is complaining about since the new "compliance person" came to be, and I'm the guinea pig for the system. Officially, I'm not here. Which is why he wanted me to move in by July 15.
T-c, some apartments I've been in have shower curtain rods bolted to the walls, and some have no shower curtains at all. My last apartment had none, but I was once again pushed and shoved and queried and rushed so that I didn't take down the other one and bring it with me.
I ended up going to Ace Hardware here because my Cabot address was on my Walmart account so my FD had to cancel the order.
My desk didn't make it this time, so all I have is the laptop. I know where the printer is, but the people who helped to unload the truck stacked heavy things up high, not considering my age and lack of upper body strength. They wanted my living room to at least look like a welcoming place.
The bed didn't make it either, as it was a choice between the bed or the desk, and the desk was a disaster by the time it got here. Potholes! Be that as it may: I will work on the kitchen today, as that is where the desk will be. I'm also going to go to the USPS with a friend, and then to Walmmart to pick up a few things.
The Wi-Fi Guy didn't come until after 1600 yesterday, and it took him almost two hours to set up for two TVs and the laptop. I was exhausted by the time he left, so I just got on here long enough to make sure I could, and shut it down.
It's still hard for me too breathe. I went from 300' above sea level to 4000' and my body hates me. The meds given for the A-Fib seem to be helping but I get worn out very easily, and very quickly.
It looks like I made it just in time for monsoon season, but that's OK: Warm sunny mornings and brief thunderstorms in the afternoons to cool things off. So the swamp cooler is absolutely no good at all for cooling the place off! Now is when the A/Cs are needed!
So! It's time to get dressed and get back to the job of making this place look like home!
(I can't find the legs for the TV, the remotes, or much of anything else that I need. Everything seems to be scarmabled and it's discouraging.)
But it's up and at'em, and even though Rome wasn't built in a day, I can make some things happen! And there is sunshine! (Whenever the sun comes up....)
Does that mean the remote can come to you on its legs? That's a genius invention!!!
Welcome back to the land of the undead.
I’m sure you will get it all sorted in time. You always do. In the meantime we’re glad to have you back.
So glad to see you back here, ‘Face!
Sounds like you will be very busy for quite some time... but try not to build Rome in a day!
Hoping that your body acclimates to the altitude soon, and that you enjoy the sunshine!!
Thanks for comprehensive report! I’m glad there’s someone to drive you to the post office and the Walmart.
I hate moving. As a Brat we moved every 2½ years.
Yahoo and PTL! So very happy for you! You’ll have the new place in order in no time, I’m sure.
