Wow. Good luck on the church festival! It is that time, isn’t it?
That seems like a heavy musical load, but I’m thinking all the ladies must really enjoy what they’re doing, looking forward to the final performance.
Does the church have a Mariachi band?
When I was in Del Rio, I saw the high school Mariachi Band play and they were ¡estupendo! I’ve seen a lot of adults play, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them do a better job than this group of teens.
I’ll need to go take my shower in a while. I’m waiting for it to get just a bit lighter outside so I can open the back door. Since there is no screen, I wait until it’s light so the light in here doesn’t attract the flying squadrons of pests.
We do not have our own mariachi band. Maybe one day! They probably do at some of the majority-Hispanic parishes like Guadalupe and Assumption.
And yes, the ladies are excited about doing the popular music they like. We have four Caribbean pieces for the Dominican and Puerto Rican contingent, as well as a selection from Mexico.
