Historical fact: In the election of 1860, Lincoln, the Republican, was not on the ballot in any of the slave states. He still won the election of 1860. If Trump is not on the ballot in California, NY, Massachusetts or any of the deep-blue states, it won’t change the Electoral College voteāthe only vote that matters.
Forcing him off the ballot might well be enough motivation for voters where he is on the ballot to win the election for him.
Historical fact: In the election of 1860, Lincoln, the Republican, was not on the ballot in any of the slave states.
That is historial fiction. Lincoln was on the ballot in several slave states, for example New Jersey> (58,346), Delaware (3,822), Kentucky (1,364), and Missouri (17,028).
Lincoln appeared on the ballot in 23 states. Not less than 17% of those states were slave states. Lincoln won the majority of electoral votes in the slave state of New Jersey.
New Jersey ended slavery in January 1866. Kentucky and Delaware ended slavery in December 1865. Missouri ended slavery January 1865.
