perhaps the more fair minded that shop these stores should introduce the store owners to the “bud lite” treatment. after all, they’re just asking for it. they really do seem to hate the very idea of “Truth,Justice and the American way”.

Most lawsuits are not worth it.

That's why attorneys have consultations with perspective clients for a fee. They'll tell you if you have a case or not, and most of the time they're correct.

What part of Colorado?
It’s not mentioned here.

I was in a lawsuit. It wasn’t contingency. I was paying $500 per hour. I’d paid about $12000. I won. I got a $30,000 settlement. My last bill left me with essentially my out-of-pocket expenses. Suddenly there was thousands of dollars and a multi-page bill. When I complained the lawyer said, “What are you complaining about? You won.” I said his bill was fraudulent. He said, “So sue us.”

This was a “reputable” firm.

Several times over the years I’ve been part of a class action because some company I owned stock in had done something that hurt the shareholders. Once I was owed about somewhere between thirty to forty thousand dollars. Several years later I got a check for $7.95. This is because the winning law firm holds onto the money and fee’s it to death.

The legal game is for lawyers, not the ordinary unwashed public. The reason some lawsuit winnings make the news is because of how rare they are in real life.

Btw, I know people who’ve and won millions in settlements...So there ya have it!

Every case and every attorney are different.

Ah, most of the time in class action cases the attorneys are generally the big winners. This is nothing new.

Somebody beside the looters are making money off it.

"Actually, it looks like he acquired the video, then posted it personally, which made the company look like tools, and potentially encourage other thieves."

I agree. It's the details that fall through the cracks, as the saying goes. The ex-employee should have turned over the video to the police and let them deal with the thieves. Of course a copy of it would have been useful if, after a length of time, nothing was done.

The HOA was trying to force me out of my home and take it. It was a pure power play on their part. So, technically, the win was much more than the money. Maybe that was part of their thinking on the “value” they, the law firm, had contributed.

But you could see on the lawyer’s face, he was (f-wording) me and knew I’d never take them to court, and if I did, the system was rigged in their favor. And, they reasoned, correctly, I wasn’t going to do another crap shoot in front of a judge. And they literally told me, the law doesn’t matter. Precedent doesn’t matter. You go in front of a judge and it’s a crap shoot.

BTW, I try to be a nice, reasonable and polite guy. I wasn’t being an A-hole to them. Maybe I should have been, but it’s not my personality. I’ve never in my professional or personal life screamed at anybody. My philosophy is there’s no place in the modern world where you can profit by screaming at anyone. (My dad was a ragger. I made up my mind I’d never be him.)

It’s easier to pad a bill for $20000 than it is to pad it for millions. It’s also less risk for the attorney.

I think he has grounds for wrongful termination.

I agree. Make them pay.

Yes, and I hope his win closes the store.

I really have a dislike for managers like this.

If they over-road the union rep, they really had it in for
this guy.

Criminals get a free walk, and upstanding citizens get
banned from employment. Sounds fair huh? /s

Some ones going to get a huge payday for wrongful termination and violating his civil rights.
