Well, first of all, the NBA is a business, they can punish people for things that aren't crimes, but I am pretty sure brandishing a gun is a crime. Remember the article last week, where a white guy calls the police when some black guy is brandishing a knife at his family. Then, when the black female police officer is going to arrest him the black man, the white guy freaks out and cries. The officer and the white guy specifically discuss brandishing a gun is a crime.

Morant went into a strip club brandishing a gun. Are you telling I could go into a club or a bank and wave my gun around, and go home?

Also, almost every NBA player actually though Morant was wrong and should be punished. Even Jemele Hill thought he should be punished more, and she has never thought any black person should be punished before, for anything.
