I cannot disagree with your assessment. I call Tombstone the greatest western ever. My father and grandfather served, I was in the Civil Air Patrol. I am partial to war flicks. I like almost all of them: We Were Soldiers, Apocalypse Now. If I had to pick one, I would pick Saving Private Ryan.
I probably like war movies better than any other genre too.
Those you’ve named are great ones.
IMO one of the best things about Tombstone was so many seriously good actors who were well fitted to their characters and delivered in their performances.
