A recently passed bill in Michigan could make it a felony to intimidate someone by intentionally using the wrong gender pronouns, according to some legal experts.
Under the new bill, offenders are "guilty of a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 5 years, or by a fine of not more than $10,000."

Michigan just trounces all over the First Amendment.
Have these liberals gone off the deep end?
I know in their world, “misgendering” someone, is a crime against humanity. For the rest of the world, it is just something which we “ignorant unenlightend” people will do, because we don’t know all of the 50+ gender identities discovered so far.
Five years in prison, for calling “trans” influencer Dylan Mulvaney a man???? Really???
Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me, for something which most of the world doesn’t see as a criminal offense in the first place.
George Orwell never imagined that the iron clamp of fascism would put its jaws around the necks of Americans using the excuse of “wrong pronouns.”
Insanity Bill
It is a Brave New World out there.
Any government official trying to enforce such an unconstitutional law deserve whatever they get.
Michigan Democrats taking full advantage of their all encompassing power. A$$es.
Nothing unusual about this...
Just the natural progression of the tyranny that continues ot envelope us...
Nothing can, or will, be done about it...
That time was many decades ago...
There are no limits to tyranny...
Serfdom is, now, the permanent political reality in the disUnited States...
My new pronouns are fed/up and f/u.
The AG is radical lesbo she probably pushed this. The rats stole the MI SC in 18 so this might even stand until a SC smackdown
When will we just start calling everyone Comrade?
unconstitutional, you can’t regulate someones speech
As if the Supreme Court never has enough on its docket.
Unconstitutional
There are 5 conditions before it becomes a felony:
Bodily harm
Victim is minor and suspect is adult
Committed in concert with another
Second conviction
Committed while in possession of a gun
"In a victory for free speech, the rule of law, and common sense, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit recently ruled that a philosophy professor at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio, could not be forced to use a transgender student’s “preferred pronouns,” and that his suit against the university for violation of his First and 14th Amendment rights could proceed."
Any attempt by the state to prosecute such a case -- even a cherry-picked one -- would be removed to Federal District Court immediately, in this instance the Western District or Eastern District for Michigan.
Let's say worst-case scenario Eastern and some homo down there rules for the state, the state is still going to lose on instant appeal to the 6th. I don't just mean lose, but get punched down and embarass Gov Whitler. The 6th will not only remand and reverse, but also block the legislation.
