Waaaah. No more Bud Lite....No more Anheiser Busch
I'm willing to bet that the entity driving all this is invested in multiple beer products/brands and probably views a loss of sales for Bud Light being offset by an increase in sales of their other brands.
Arthur Andersen was a big accounting firm. They gave aggressive accounting advice, just like the other accounting firms. They all kept edging out on the tree branch, until AA got to a branch called Enron. AA no longer exists, the other accounting firms cleaned up their acts (until next time.)
The tobacco companies used to send cigarettes to their warehouses and count that as income. The cigarettes would get stale and be discarded, but there were more cigarettes sent to the warehouses and life was good. Then one cigarette company said, this is stupid, wrote off the whole loss and stopped doing this. The other companies copied this.
Sooner or later, woke companies will wake up.
