A man armed with explosive materials and weapons and wanted for crimes related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol, was arrested Thursday in the Washington neighborhood where former President Barack Obama lives, law enforcement officials said.
Taylor Taranto, 37, was spotted by law enforcement a few blocks from the former president's home and fled, though he was chased by U.S. Secret Service agents. Taranto has an open warrant on charges related to the Capitol riot, two law enforcement officials said. The officials were not authorized to speak publicly about an ongoing case and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Probably because he hasn’t been charged yet. The press probably doesn’t have any access to the arrest warrant.
Could it be a blanket warrant with name to be filled in upon need? No specific crime just the dreaded J6 appellation? Near Obama’s Dc residence? Is that like just being in the District?
Granted this guy could be a bad nut case and no one wants Big MIke’s beard hurt, but the media is such a willing consumer.

I suppose anything’s possible, but that wouldn’t be a legal warrant. But they wouldn’t need any shenanigans like that to arrest him if they caught him with explosive materials on his person. That is enough to justify an arrest right there.
The reference to the warrant is only to explain why the cops were looking for this guy in the first place, I think.

It’s the Kalorama house with the obnoxious fencing. Kalorama has fairly dense, very upscale housing. Bezos has a house in the ‘hood.
Obama also has a place in Hawaii as well as the Martha’s Vineyard place. Both are near sea level. Obama doesn’t seem to fear global warming.

From Google links I found, Taranto apparently was a “chemical technician” and ran for political office in a place near the Hanford nuclear site.

My point - if he was charged with a Jan 6 violent crime, we would instantly be informed about that fact.

The news stories said Obama was staying in DC until his college student daughter finished some kind of class or job - in DC, in June 2021.
My point - that was 2 years ago, they did not draw maps or publish the address, and Taranto was arrested "several blocks" away from the residence.
I am more worried that they can track a specific person, but can’t control Antifa, BLM, or the chicage looter/rioters. So they are using cameras and have the ability to use some form of AI or tech to do it.
There was "gas" in the vehicle tank.
