The Indiana man behind bars for allegedly killing two teenage girls on a hiking trail in 2017 admitted to the gruesome murders multiple times in prison phone calls to his wife and mother, documents released Wednesday reveal.
Richard Allen allegedly told his wife, Kathy Allen, and his mother “no less than 5 times” that he was responsible for killing 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German after he found them hiking alone just outside their hometown of Delphi more than six years ago.
In one April phone call, Kathy — who told reporters last week that her allegedly murderous husband was her “person” — abruptly hung up the phone after her husband confessed. Carroll County prosecutor Nicholas McLeland wrote in a June 13 filing that Allen made the admissions on public jail phones that were available to the Indiana Department of Corrections. “Investigators had the phone call transcribed and the transcription confirms that Richard Allen admits that he committed the murders of Abigail Williams and Liberty German,” McLeland said.

A killer with no shame seeking comfort from his wife and daughter. The sorrow and suffering he’s left in his madness.
He ain’t the sharpest tool in the shed, is he?
CC
He sure doesn’t look like that now
Last pic of him, he weighs about 120 pounds. Starving himself.
Bass tard can’t die soon enough
Criminals are warned that jail phones are monitored, in part to prevent planning escapes, and surprisingly often boast about their crimes when talking on a monitored line, assuming no one is paying any attention.
Poor girls having this murderous creep take their lives. Hell exists for such who do such evil.
This is a big deal here in central Indiana. Cannot wait until he is executed.
Still can’t believe his wife and daughter supposedly didn’t recognize him immediately as BG. If LE had released a few more seconds of the video, half the town would have known it was him. The monster got his jollies posing for a picture sitting in front of a sketch of BG. That’s just flipping the finger at the girls and their families. Pure evil.
They must have been so terrified. Fry it:
I hope it hurts.
I guess he was pretty proud of what he did.
Yeah, I’ve heard that before. What a creep.
Me too. I’m glad he’s looking unwell. He should be. He should be a bag of bones before long.
I’m a local Hoosier too. My granddaughters were living with their mother in Delphi at the time. Fortunately, they were too young to be walking the tracks like that
We had a couple unsolved murders just NE of there in the 70s that LEO hassled the heck out of me and my buddies for 2 years. We all had alibis but the police had nothing to go on so they focused on us. It finally took a good buddies dad and a lawyer to get them to back off.
About 10-15 years ago, the a guy tried to attack a young gal after she got off work late at night but got away and the guy was caught
Turns out, the guy was was a serial killer but had been in an Illinois prison for several years on unrelated charges. He admitted that he’d killed several people over several states in the 70s and early 80s and our tiny town was one of his targets.
He was traveling from Iowa and and Illinois to our area to do his deeds
I haven’t been able to find what his sentence was
You know he was lapping it up and proud of himself not being identified. Hope the bar owner is called to be a witness.
Delphi is a cute little town and it’s pretty crazy that a madman was right under everyone’s noses. I have a friend that lives near there, and she used to take her Doberman for walks over there. After the girls were murdered, she wouldn’t go without packing, even with a dog that could attack on command, if she wanted him to. Her dogs were so well trained, and though they didn’t need to be on leashes, she kept them that way in public to make others comfortable.
I am still learning about where places are in Indiana. We’ve been here for 10 years but there’s still a lot to discover.
How awful that the community has had to go through situations like this. Just terrible.
I bet the whole town will be witnesses. Anybody who knew him or ran in to him.
