Former Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX), the latest entrant into the 2024 Republican presidential primary, is running an explicit attack campaign against Donald Trump, yet Trump allies and veteran Republican strategists think that will only boost the former president's chances of surviving an outside challenge from Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
Hurd, a former CIA clandestine officer, served in Congress from 2015 to 2021, where he was one of the few Republican critics of the former president.

I had high expectations for Hurd when he was elected. What a disappointment.
Can he prove that he is not being run by John Brennan?
His moment was years ago. Will he reach the heights of Jim Gilmore’s 2016 candidacy?
Gee, is Hurd STILL a Covert Operative? Because I never even ‘hurd’ of him (heard). :-)
I assume he is in it to stuff his pockets with donations, since few people have any clue who he is, (and because he is an Trump hater, so here is no chance of being picked for VP or a cabinet position).
A friend of Utah’s McMillan?
How embarrassing for him that he has never understood what Trump is.
I just want people to know Hurd is saying he won’t sign a pledge to back the Republican nominee.
Also, Christie is on record saying he won’t vote for Trump in the general election.
Just wanted to get that out there, since Trump & his supporters are always being accused that they’ll “go rogue” in the future.
It may happen but so far in the Trump Era, the Republican malcontents have been the anti Trump Republicans. Their bad behavior was noticeable in 2016 & continues to this day.
FORMER being the operative word
Precisely
He and Robert orourke were legislative Allies “across the aisle”
Really? Alpha and Beto. Jeez. If that isn’t uniparty, then I don’t know what is.
Once a clown always a clown
Hurd had a short shelf life in DC
They’re pals and drove to DC together one year.
I don’t know what legislation they worked on, but it’s common for reps from different parties to work together to get projects that will supposedly benefit their state.
Hurd may actually have a good chance of making serious inroads into Christie’s 3% and Haley’s 4. But I don’t think Asa Hutchinson has anything to worry about from him. Same with Suarez.
Me too espicially when he was questioning Comey about hillary’s actions
Hurd was a turd. He fails to understand that $hit only rises to the top in the Demonrat Party...
OK, well RINOs do, too, but President Trump put a stop to that.
“...will only boost the former president’s chances of surviving an outside challenge from Gov. Ron DeSantis “
SURVIVING?
CHANCES OF SURVIVING?
Biased much?
Trump isn’t “surviving” he’s THRIVING!
I posted an article for each of the GOP candidates last evening. I think this one received the least attention. No one cares about Hurd. There’s no way I am ever voting for an ex-CIA candidate again. I got burnt once by GHW Bush. That’s enough.
