The “vaunted” House Freedom Caucus has 40 to 50 members, if the Republicans were a conservative party that number should be more like 170-180.
During the Speaker vote the HRC had about 10 votes for somebody other than McCarthy. The guy they voted for was Jordan who didn’t want the job & was a McCarthy supporter.
