Layoffs for Ford workers are on the horizon this week, following contractor cuts on Friday, June 23.

Salaried workers in the U.S. and Canada are expected to hear notice of layoffs with severance packages this week, Ford spokesperson T.R. Reid said.

Layoffs will affect workers across all three business units: Ford Pro, Ford Blue, the internal combustion engine company, and Ford Model e, the electric division. This includes teams that support them.

This will reduce the workforce of 28,000 North American salaried employees, but Reid did not specify how many workers or what percentage of the workforce. It does not affect the 71,000 hourly employees in North America.

Given the company’s headquarters in Dearborn, Reid said Southeast Michigan workers will make up a significant amount of workers impacted.

What? How can this be? BeijingBiden got a promise from them to go whole hog on EV’s. Surely, that would mean more American jobs?
Oh. No, BeijingBiden needs to move those jobs to China as part of his deal with the CCP.

Makes sense, now.

Up the street here in Marshall, Michigan Ford Motor wants to open a multi-billion dollar new EV battery plant with the chicoms, you’d think the feds were behind this with all the secrecy and backstabbing going on. It’s going to be really ugly, so far nothing but ‘campaign style’ ads from the developers vs. the locals who will have to deal with the noise, pollution and everything else. One would be a fool to have an EV in this climate so they’ll be shipped elsewhere, damned things would hardly make it to the end of the driveway.

I hope it fails bigly.

Too big to fail.

...Henry Ford would probably shutter the plant himself if he saw the crappy products being made today with his name on them

Ford’s investment in EV is sinking the company.
The Mach-E is a marketing train wreck and their E trucks were very damaged by the YouTube vid showing less than 100 mile range.

Ford will lose $3 billion this year on electric vehicles.
$6 billion on EVs over three years.
