Isn’t it time for this crap to go away? The “legacy of slavery” and Jim Crow in the South disappeared when Republicans started dominating Southern politics. It was Democrats who suppressed black votes in the South. That legacy has been cleaned up.
Alabama was under Reconstruction for 12 years, when majority rules voting was reestablished in 1877.
The Civil Rights Act has been in effect on the Southern States since 1964. Northern states don’t have this federal oversight watching their every move, no matter how racist they might be. Only the South has this perpetual federal encroachment.
12 years under military occupation called Reconstruction, and now 58 years under the federal boot called “Civil Rights”.
When will we be allowed home rule like the North?
