Then a few short years later the hippies were wearing jeans they’d purposely ripped the knees out of. What a change.I have a different recollection of the torn jean look. During the 70's I had numerous jeans rip at the knew due to wear and washings. I think it's today's impatient youth who buy pre-ripped jeans.

“remember my mom being pinched on the rear by italian men on a number of occasions.”
My cousin is a minister in Italy. Back in the ‘70s and ‘80s when his beautiful blonde sisters visited, it was a weeks-long event of pinches and wolf whistles.
A guy would try to run interference, but it didn’t always work out.

To rip your jeans naturally at the knee requires that you work. Less of the seventies and eighties kids actually worked. Thus, the market for pre-ripped jeans.

Good for you. If you are going to church to redd up the building or the grounds, then jeans and t-shirts are appropriate attire, IMHO.

The 26-year-old’s white dress was too short and too low cut, meaning she was barred from entering the Vatican, the Pantheon and the Museum of the Dead. GOOD.

That’s great. Sad it needed to get to that point, but humans are fallible. Praise God for His mercy and patience!

Wow, this makes me more interested in going to Italy.
And then there is the other end - Moslem countries.

well, it’s about visiting places of worship.
When visiting a place of worship no bare knees, shoulder or mid-riff.
Otherwise itsa fine

Probably more common there, but that was 1960s male American behavior as well.

GOOD FOR THEM!
People around here wear pajamas and fuzzy bunny house shoes to town. If not that they dress like whores. Some of these louts never met a razor or a shower. They look filthy and they stink. They live the same way they look.

Outdoors, of course. Although my father would not agree. We were forbidden to wear slacks or shorts EVER. We even had to take notes to school for gym class.
I wonder why I was bullied. Hmmm... class dork.

Oh My God- this is my #1 favorite of all of Michelle’s gaffes and thats a long list.
What the hell was she thinking? I guess we should be grateful she doesn’t travel in a bathing suit.

We get a lot of visitors and first timers, and Phoenix is a hot climate. Folks adjust without complaint, and minor infractions (e.g. skirt just above knee) are over-looked.
