Only if he is on the ballot. If he decides to go independent count on many states changing their election laws to make it more difficult for independents to gain a place on the ballot. They may even people indicted for, or convicted of, felonies from appearing on the ballot. You can bet that every signature on petitions to put him on the ballot will be challenged.
