Russia's Wagner militia forces are headed towards Moscow on Saturday after chief Yevgney Prigozhin initiated a military coup against Putin and his regime, which has seen the group take key cities and mock the President, who called them 'traitors'.
Putin addressed the Russian people on Saturday, warning that the military leader had 'stabbed him in the back', as Moscow is on lockdown as troops dig in in preparation to defend the city.

Well, there goes my 6-D chess conspiracy theory. I was thinking all the "tension" between Putin and his baker was contrived, to draw the Ukrainians into a Cannae-like trap.
I don’t see honor in Biden helping Putin thru money he’s giving Iran while he’s sending aid to Ukraine.
? ? ? Please explain why.
The mercs may have tanks, but they’re going to need fuel to keep them moving onto Moscow. Plan A. Shut down the gas stations. Plan A, the extended version. Shut down the gas stations and shoot Prigozhin
Wagner was resting and refitting after Bakhmut. They weren’t in the active fight.
The question for the Ukrainian front is will the regular Russian forces keep up strong resistance when the Wagner business is going on.
My guess is the West is involved. Wagner are mercenaries, which suggests they can be bought.
If Putin is overthrown, this will be a huge victory for both Biden and the neocons crowd. All the other stuff will go away, and Biden will be a shoe-in for 2024.
They should be. With Wagner now in control of the Russian Southern Military District headquarters Prighozin has access to the SMD's internal communications network, resources, and things like code books. They also reportedly have control of the local military base and whatever arms are there.
How does that work when the guy who wants to pump some diesel brought his gun and a couple of hundred of his friends?
It’s 700 miles by road from Rostov to Moscow. There are several hundred wagner guys, and Moscow is a city of 13 million. Nobody is rolling to Moscow. I’d think troops on roads around Moscow, assuming that is true, were to prevent any local military from joining in. That’d make more sense.

Putin fleeing Russia? No way, bucko, the tin pot dictator has nukes and he’s not worried about this mercenary. Mark my words, Putin isn’t fleeing Moscow. Not that that would be a bad thing, just not going to happen because of some threat by the Wagner boss.
“This means the Russian high command is seriously afraid.”
No, the Russian high command is cautious. You think that if they were not afraid, they would allow an army of 25,000 to just roll in?
Russia has the largest offensive nuclear capability in the world. If a de-stabilized Russian government does not make you nervous, then you have a problem with thinking.
Putin has already fled Moscow. He flew to Sochi last night.
The rest of his cabinet fled to St. Petersburg this morning.
And Lukashenko and his family fled Belarus last night and is in Turkey now.
“Biden will be a shoe-in for 2024”
There are no conceivable set of circumstances where Biden will be a shoo-in for 2024.
Makes all the drama from the usual llamas over January 6 pale to absolutely nothing. Yet real US citizens are rotting in cells over it.
You can bet he is far from Moscow in a bunker somewhere.
It’s called a rigged election. See 2020.
If all of this is true then it is an indication Moscow is seriously threatened. Russia has already shown the world, via the invasion, that their military is junk, and now their most effective -- and veteran -- fighting force is marching to Moscow.
This does little to enhance Joe’s reelection. He’s still a vegetable and the border is wide open.
